Refund & Return Policy
Thank you for supporting my work and workshops. Please read this policy carefully to understand how refunds and returns are handled.
1. Scope
This policy applies to:

Artworks purchased via my website (www.henriettevanstaden.co.za)

Workshop bookings made online
It does not apply to artworks purchased in person, via third-party retailers, or commissions.
2. Artworks Purchased Online

Refunds and returns are only applicable to unseen artworks bought via the website.

“Unseen” means the artwork has not been displayed, framed, altered, or handled in a way that may damage it.

Returns must be requested within 7 days of delivery, with photos of the packaging and artwork.

If approved, the item must be returned in its original packaging and condition.

Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.
3. Workshop Bookings

A R500 booking fee is required to secure your place. This fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.

The balance of the workshop fee is refundable only if the cancelled spot is successfully filled by another booking in the case of a fully booked workshop.

If I must cancel the workshop (e.g., due to illness or insufficient numbers), you will be offered either:

A full refund (including booking fee), or
-
A credit to use toward a future workshop (valid for 12 months).

4. Commissions
Custom artworks and commissions are non-refundable, except in cases of defects or errors on my part.
5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days to the original payment method.

Shipping costs are not refundable, except where an item was damaged, defective, or incorrect.
6. Consumer Protection Act
This policy is aligned with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), which protects your right to receive goods of good quality, free of defects, and as described.
